The gateway to the Sonoran Desert will soon boast fresh oases of opulence. Two new luxury shopping centers and the revitalization of a local icon are keeping fans of high fashion in and around Scottsdale excited.
- The Palmeraie at Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley
Part of a highly anticipated $2 billion master-planned community project, The Palmeraie will rise as a luxury commercial hub complementing the Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley resort community.
The first phase of The Palmeraie will cover a 160,000-square-foot area nestled at the corner of Scottsdale Road and Indian Bend. Upon its completion in 2019, shoppers can expect more than 100 luxury and specialty boutiques, alongside exquisite dining destinations bannered by renowned local and international chefs.
Hanna Struever, principal of Retail Portfolio Solutions, is overseeing the selection of The Palmeraie’s set of luxury merchants. Struever is also behind the Highland Park Village, a notable upscale retail hub in Dallas, Texas.
Five Star Development, the team behind the high-profile project, promises a “profoundly different” experience at The Palmeraie. In addition to the curated mix of prestigious stores and restaurants, development plans include sophisticated “Modernterranean” architecture and intricate landscaping that create a balance between indoor and outdoor spaces for guests to enjoy.
- District at the Quarter
District at the Quarter is a luxury mixed-use project planned for one of the strongest for-rent markets in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Located near the Scottsdale Quarter and Kierland Commons, District at the Quarter will add an additional 7,000 square feet of retail space for luxury brands. Its proximity to the Scottsdale Airport also makes the District an attractive new shopping destination for visitors from across the country and around the globe.
District at the Quarter is a joint project of the real estate group of Ares Management, L.P. and Kaplan Management Company. The project will rise on 8.8 acres of prime real estate in North Scottsdale through two phases. The first phase, which will include more than half of the planned 612 high-end apartment units, is anticipated to open in 2018.
- Scottsdale Fashion Square
An icon in upscale shopping, the Fashion Square opened all the way back in 1961. Ranking among the 30 largest and 25 most visited malls in the United States, it is one of the most profitable retail centers in US history. And it’s about to get even better.
Scottsdale Fashion Square is currently being redeveloped, and is expected to reopen in 2018. The project is reinventing the iconic shopping center’s look without replacing its unmistakable character.
When completed, the revitalized Fashion Square will boast a two-story luxury wing entrance, a promenade area with exquisite outdoor dining options, and of course, more globally renowned brands. Innovative amenities and services will also be introduced to “elevate” the premier shopping experience.
